Since launching Herodesk, we’ve had a built-in *pliiiiiing* sound that plays in your browser whenever a new message is received. It did the trick, but was very generic.
About a year ago, we released our smartphone app, which allowed you to receive push notifications. These were more customizable and let you choose which inbox or smart folder they should apply to.
Today, we’ve released a new notification centre that lets you fully customise when and where you wish to receive notifications, as well as for which events.

The new notification centre lets you decide:
- Receive a notification when a conversation is assigned to you
- Receive a notification when a new message is received in one or more specific inboxes or smart-folders (or select “all” to receive everything)
- Which inbox should function as “unread count” to show the badge on your smartphone for how many unread messages there are in your Herodesk
- A new feature to suppress notifications on certain events, fx, if you have your Flexfone integration installed and are currently on a call
The settings will be the same across devices, so browser notifications will apply to all browsers you have open, and push notifications will apply to all devices where you have installed our app.
We acknowledge that one size doesn’t always fit all.
While it’s a tight balance between being able to customise everything and keeping things simple (which is very important to us, as you probably know), we realise that this is one of the areas where it makes sense to allow some customizability.
That’s why we have decided to prioritise this task now, so you can configure Herodesk to behave the way that works best for you.
The new notification centre is available to all Herodesk customers.
Push notifications are still only available to Herodesk Basci and Herodesk Plus customers.
